Over time, I have learned a thing or two about podcast distribution from my own experience. Apply these tipps and growth will follow ASAP.
- Dedicate 50:50 resources (effort, time, money) to production and distribution
- New episodes are not (big) news, but a necessity for a podcast
- Your best marketing has long been in the “sawdust” of the content you produce. What by-products do you have to share? Capture them
- Do things that others don’t, won’t, or can’t (zig when others zag)
- The three biggest growth levers for podcasts today are *1* using algorithmic discovery channels, *2* collaborating with other podcasters, and *3* constantly creating new communication opportunities
- What got you here won’t get you there (you’ll reach your second 1,000 listeners differently)
- Continue to use a few effective marketing methods and leave room for risky, uplifting experimentation
- Focus on methods that increase in combination and impact over time
- Do more of what you love
